Encouraging Employees to Take Paid Leave
In order to promote the planned use of paid leave, we are working to develop annual leave acquisition plans for each department. The General Affairs Division manages monthly progress, and the Safety and Health Committee has shared information on the status of paid leave utilization. As a result, the utilization rate increased from 61.5% in FY2019 to 79.6% in FY2023. We will continue to promote the use of paid leave in order to encourage employees to refresh and enrich their private lives.
Gender Equality with No Barrier to Work and Roles
In order to eliminate gender disparities and realize the success of all human resources, we have been working since FY 2019 on the establishment and activities of the Diversity Promotion Committee, development training, and other initiatives. The ratio of female managers was 9.3% as of March 31, 2019, increasing to 16.1% as of March 31, 2024.
Gender Equality in the Home
To help employees balance work and life events such as childbirth, childcare, and nursing care, we promote male employees to take childcare leave. As a result of annual internal awareness briefings and internal PR activities, the male childcare leave take-up rate increased from 3% in FY 2019 to 36% in FY 2023. At the same time, the utilization rate of the flextime system and the shortened working hour system for male employees with childcare or nursing care needs has also increased proportionally.
Employing Disabled People
We are striving to build a cooperative system with local support centers and are working to expand the number of workplaces and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Based on the idea that people with disabilities can work and play an active role according to their individual abilities regardless of their disabilities, people with disabilities are assigned to various departments, including production, engineering, design, and indirect departments. We promote employment of people with disabilities so that they can lead independent lives while taking pride in being an asset to G-TEKT.
Active Roles for Senior Citizens
The number of seniors who continue to play a variety of active roles after retirement has been increasing every year. For example, they are those who work at the same production sites as the younger generation, those who train younger workers by passing on their skills, and seniors who continue to be active on the front lines by utilizing their skills. Aiming to motivate them to be more active, we have reviewed our personnel evaluation system and introduced a platinum employee system that allows them to continue working in the same position and with the same responsibilities as before their retirement. In anticipation of the growing need for more active senior employees in the future, we will continue to study the system, including the way they work.
