History

–1950s

TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. and KIKUCHI CO., LTD. are the roots of G-TEKT, and both companies launched their businesses based on sheet metal fabrication operations. Later, they began doing business with automobile manufacturers and made automobile parts their core business, thus gaining a foothold for growth.

1922 Starts sheet metal fabrication operations in Tanabe-city, Wakayama.
1946 Starts doing business with Hatsudoki Seizo Co., Ltd. (currently Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd.) Since then, it has been dealing with auto parts.
Mar. 1947 Starts sheet metal fabrication and welding operations in Mitaka-city, Tokyo.
Dec. 1949 Starts doing business with Tama Electro Automobile Co. (later Prince Motors, Ltd.) Since then, it has been dealing with auto parts.
Jun. 1952 TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. is established in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture.
Nov. 1953 Kikuchi Body Kogyo, Ltd. is established to manufacture and sell automotive components at 592 Shimorenjaku, Mitaka City, Tokyo.

1960–70s

Both companies grew their automotive parts businesses and began working with Honda Motor Co., Ltd. As Tier 1 suppliers of body components, they expanded their operations and established strong partnerships with leading automotive OEMs.

Mar. 1963 Kikuchi Press Industry, Ltd. is reorganized as a stock company with paid-in capital of 10 million yen, while its trade name is changed to KIKUCHI CO., LTD. The headquarters is located in Mitaka City, Tokyo.
May 1964 Begins doing business with HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.
Nov. 1966 Shiga Plant is established in Tsuchiyama-cho, Koka District, Shiga Prefecture (currently, Tsuchiyama-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture).
Sep. 1967 Begins doing business with HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.
May 1968 Establishes a large press factory in the Shiga Plant.
Jan. 1969 KIKUCHI CO., LTD.: Hamura Plant is established and begins operations at Hamura-machi, Nishitama District, Tokyo (currently Hamura City, Tokyo).
Nov. 1971 TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd.: Headquarters is relocated from Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture to Tsuchiyama-cho, Koka District, Shiga Prefecture (currently Tsuchiyama-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture).
Mar. 1973 Establishes a welding assembly factory in the Shiga Plant.

1980s

The two companies took their first step toward becoming global enterprises by supporting the global strategies of leading automotive OEMs. At the time, there were virtually no precedents of press and welding manufacturers expanding overseas, making the journey particularly challenging. However, by complementing each other’s strengths and working together to overcome difficulties, they successfully built up valuable management expertise in overseas operations.


In 1984, both companies made their first overseas expansion into the United States. This marked the beginning of their aggressive overseas expansion.

May 1984 KTH Parts Industries, Inc. is established in the US state of Ohio as a joint venture company involving five companies: KIKUCHI CO., LTD., TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd., HIRATA & CO., LTD., HONGO CO., LTD. and American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Sep. 1987 Equity investment by HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD. (investment ratio is 9.52%).
May 1988 Jefferson Industries Corporation is established in the State of Ohio, as a joint venture company involving three companies: KIKUCHI CO., LTD., TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. and American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

1990s

Building on their first overseas venture in North America, the two companies steadily expanded their global footprint. They established production bases across Southeast Asia, North America, South America, and Europe, developing a just-in-time supply system to flexibly meet customer needs worldwide.

Apr. 1990 The Technical Center and the Tochigi Plant are established in Kitsuregawa-machi, Shioya District, Tochigi Prefecture (currently Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture) and begin operating.
Apr. 1991 Takao C&C (currently C&C Tochigi) is established in Takanezawa-machi, Shioya District, Tochigi Prefecture.
Sep. 1991 Pulls out of KTH Parts Industries, Inc. due to start of full-scale operations by Jefferson Industries Corporation.
Oct. 1994 Takao (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (currently G-TEKT [Thailand] Co., Ltd.) is established in Ayutthaya Province, Thailand.
Apr. 1996 Registered shares as an over-the-counter stock with the Japan Securities Dealers Association.
May 1996 Takao Eastern Co., Ltd. (currently G-TEKT Eastern Co., Ltd.) is established in Rayong Province, Thailand.
Oct. 1996 Jefferson Elora Corporation is established in Ontario, Canada.
Dec. 1996 KP do Brasil Ltda. (currently G-KT do Brasil Ltda.) is established in São Paulo, Brazil as a joint venture company of KIKUCHI CO., LTD. and Honda Motor do Brasil Ltda.
Jan. 1997 Stadco Takao Europe Limited (currently G-TEKT Europe Manufacturing Ltd.) is established in Gloucester, UK.
Jul. 1998 Austin Tri-Hawk Automotive, Inc. is established in the US state of Indiana.
Mar. 1999 Takao America Corporation (currently G-TEKT America Corporation) is established in the US state of Michigan.

2000s

The joint venture achieved further growth through its first entry into the rapidly expanding Chinese automotive market and by enhancing production capacity in North America. At the same time, both companies established new domestic facilities and enhanceed its production infrastructure both in Japan and overseas.

Jun. 2002 Gunma Plant is established in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture and begins operating.
Jul. 2002 Headquarters is relocated to Hamura City, Tokyo.
May 2004 Thai G&B Manufacturing Ltd. is established in Rayong Province, Thailand.
Dec. 2004 Cancels over-the-counter registration with the Japan Securities Dealers Association and lists shares on the JASDAQ Securities Exchange (currently the Tokyo Stock Exchange JASDAQ [Standard]).
Mar. 2005 Wuhan Auto Parts Alliance Co., Ltd. is established in Wuhan, Hubei Province in China.
May 2005 HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD. acquires an additional 900,000 shares of Kikuchi's outstanding shares to become the largest shareholder (investment ratio is 20.7%).
Sep. 2005 Conghua K&S Auto Parts Co., Ltd. (currently Conghua Auto Parts Alliance (China) Ltd.) is established in Conghua District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province in China.
Feb. 2007 Global Auto-Parts Alliance India Private Ltd. is established in the State of Rajasthan in India.
Feb. 2008 Acquires ISO/TS 16949 certification.
Sep. 2009 Saitama Plant is established in Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture and begins operating.

2010s–

In 2011, TAKAO and KIKUCHI merged to form G-TEKT.


In 2014, listed on the 1st Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange

Nov. 2011 For restructuring in India, consolidated subsidiaries are reorganized and G-TEKT India Private Ltd. is established in the State of Rajasthan in India.
Feb. 2012 PT.G-TEKT Indonesia Manufacturing is established in West Java Province, Indonesia.
Mar. 2012 G-ONE AUTO PARTS DE MEXICO, S.A. DE C.V. is established in the State of Guanajuato, Mexico as a joint company of G-TEKT CORPORATION and H-ONE CO., LTD.
Apr. 2013 G-TEKT North America Corporation is established in the US state of Ohio.
July. 2013 Shares are listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange JASDAQ (Standard) following the integration of the Osaka and Tokyo Stock Exchanges.

Mar. 2022 Conghua K&S Auto Parts Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province in China, make an investment in kind of all the equity to Auto Parts Alliance (China) Ltd. and become a subsidiary of Auto Parts Alliance (China) Ltd. (our sub-subsidiary) It changes its trade name to Conghua Auto Parts Alliance (China) Ltd.
Apr. 2022 Shifting from the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange to the Prime Market due to a review of the market classification of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Nov. 2022 G-TEKT America Corporation becomes our wholly owned subsidiary.
Oct. 2023 G-TEKT Eastern Co., Ltd. merges with Thai G&B Manufacturing Ltd.
Feb. 2024 Global Auto-Parts Alliance India Private Ltd.is liquidated.
Feb. 2025 Guangzhou Nansha Auto Parts Alliance (China) Ltd. in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province in China begins operating.
