The Birth of G-TEKT   On April 1, 2011, the merger of KIKUCHI CO., LTD. and TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. resulted in the birth of the new “G-TEKT CORPORATION.” The two companies had been engaged in a positive partnership for over 25 years, carrying out joint business ventures in order to satisfy their global supply responsibilities as Auto Body Components manufacturers. KIKUCHI CO., LTD. and TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. decided to merge in order to flexibly respond to changes in the business environment, enhance their global deployment strengths so as to emerge victorious over global competitors in the highly competitive automobile component industry, expand their business scope, and increase their competitiveness by expanding their business foundations.Drastic changes in the automobile industry environment since the global economic crisis

KIKUCHI CO., LTD. TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd.
1947 April Founder, Toshio Kikuchi, establishes Ro-son Workshop Company.
1963 March Kikuchi Press Industry, Ltd. is reorganized as a stock company capitalized at 10 million yen. The company name is changed to KIKUCHI CO., LTD., and the headquarters is located in Mitaka-shi, Tokyo.
1969 January Hamura Plant is newly established in Hamura-machi, Nishitama-gun, Tokyo (currently Hamura-shi, Tokyo) and starts operation.



 
1922 April Seisuke Takao founds Takao Tekko, Ltd. to start a canning factory in Tanabe-shi, Wakayama.
1966 November Shiga Plant is established in Tsuchiyama-cho, Kokagun,Shiga.
1968 May The installation of a major pressing line is completed in Shiga Plant.
1969 February Shiga Plant’s painting plant is completed.
1971 November The headquarters is relocated from Tanabe-shi, Wakayama to Tsuchiyama-cho, Koka-gun, Shiga.
Headquarters Plant splits off as a separate company.
1984 May Kikuchi Joins HIRATA & CO., LTD., Hongo Co., Ltd., TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd., and American Honda Motor Co., Inc. for setting up KTH Parts Industries Inc. in Ohio, U.S.A. (for manufacturing and sales of automotive parts, etc.).
1988 May Kikuchi Joins TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. and American Honda Motor Co., Inc. for setting up Jefferson Industries Corporation in Ohio, U.S.A. (for manufacturing and sales of automotive parts, etc.).
1990 April Opened new Technical Center (currently Tochigi Plant) in Kitsuregawa-machi, Shioya-gun, Tochigi and commenced operations.
1995 December Karmaster Metal Products, Inc. (currently Kikuchi USA Inc.) established in Michigan, U.S.A., as Kikuchi’s sales office.
1996 April Listed as over-the-counter stock with Japan Securities Dealers Association.
1996 December Kikuchi joins Honda Motor do Brasil Ltda. for setting up KP do Brasil Ltda. (currently Kikuchi do Brasil Ltda.) in Sao Paolo, Brazil (for manufacturing and sales of automotive parts, etc.).
1997 December Equity investment in Jefferson Elora Corporation, subsidiary of Jefferson Industries Corporation (Ontario, Canada), affiliate of Kikuchi.
2000 June Equity investment in Jefferson Southern Corporation in Georgia, U.S.A., subsidiary of Jefferson Industries Corporation, affiliate of Kikuchi.
 
1991 April Takao C&C Tochigi opens.

1994 October Takao (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (TTC) is established in Ayutthaya, Thailand.

1996 May Takao Eastern Co., Ltd. (TEC) is established in Rayong, Thailand.

1996 October Jefferson Elora Corporation (JEC) is established.

1997 January Stadco Takao Europe Limited (STE) is established in Gloucester, U.K.

1999 March Takao America Corporation (TAC) is established.

2000 February Name of STE is changed to Takao Europe Manufacturing Ltd. (TEM).

2000 July Jefferson Southern Corporation (JSC) is established in Georgia, U.S.A.



2001 November Kikuchi joins TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. for setting up Auto Parts Alliance (China) Ltd. (APAC) in Guangzhou, China (for manufacturing and sales of automotive parts, etc.).
2005 March Kikuchi joins TAKANO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. for setting up Wuhan Auto Parts Alliance (China) Ltd. (WAPAC) in Wuhan, China (for manufacturing and sales of automotive parts, etc.).
2007 February Kikuchi joins TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. for setting up Global Auto-Parts Alliance India Private Ltd. in Rajasthan, India (for manufacturing and sales of automotive parts, etc.).
2010 May Concluded a merger agreement with TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd.
2010 June KIKUCHI CO., LTD. and TAKAO KINZOKU KOGYO Co., Ltd. the approval of merge agreement at the 57th shareholder conference.
